Corunna real estate has grown a lot over the past ten years with many new subdivisions popping up and therefore causing the average price to be skewed upwards. Corunna is in St Clair County which means lower taxes than living in Sarnia. The lower cost of living versus Sarnia is why many families choose to buy Corunna real estate.  The average tax savings alone in Corunna are $1000/year and that can by a lot of groceries at Foodland or No Frills both in Corunna!  Corunna also features an LCBO, hardware store, banks, Tim Hortons, Subway, Shoppers Drug Mart and basically every other service you will need.  The only time you really need to leave would be for the hospital in Sarnia.

Many resale homes can be found in the $160,000s for a 3 bedroom 2 bath split level plan. If you are looking for a home with a pool Corunna real estate has a lot of pools because of all the family homes. The commute to Sarnia is only 10 – 15mins or if you work in one of the plants it could be closer than Sarnia depending on where your work. This is why a lot of plant workers choose Corunna as a place to live. Corunna should be on your list if you work in the south end and do not mind the 10 – 15 minute drive into Sarnia.  If you have closer to a $200,000 – $250,000 budget you will get great value for your money.

The riverfront has some of the nice real estate in Corunna.  If you buy along the water you get to enjoy your very own dock and watch the boats go by.  Many of my clients prefer living on the St Clair river better than the lake as there is more action on the river.  The lake you get great sun sets but that’s about it.  The river there is non stop action with personal boats and huge shipping boats.

Building a home in Corunna:

The largest and best value home builder in Corunna is Danbury Homes who is currently building his 15th phase in Paddock Green.  Model homes are open every Sunday 1 – 4pm.  New home prices continue to rise every year and are now starting in the high 200’s for a single family detached raised ranch.  Danbury builds bungalows and raised ranches and home prices top out around $450,000 for a executive bungalow.  You will love his new design team that helps you pick out all your interior design finishes to make your vision a reality.
